Prime Minister Narendra Modi made an unexpected stop for the popular Bengali street snack jhalmuri during his Assembly election campaign in Jhargram on Sunday, offering a candid moment amid a busy day of political engagements.
During his visit to address a public meeting, PM Modi paused at a local stall, where he was seen enjoying jhalmuri while interacting with residents. The spontaneous visit drew attention as locals gathered around, surprised by the Prime Minister’s presence.
The Prime Minister spent time engaging with people at the stall, sharing smiles and distributing the snack among children and women present. The brief interaction turned into a memorable moment for those who witnessed it.
Later, the Prime Minister shared glimpses of the visit on his social media platform X, mentioning that he enjoyed the snack between four rallies across West Bengal on a packed Sunday schedule.

The shop owner, Vikram Shaw, expressed happiness over the visit, describing how the Prime Minister stopped his vehicle, asked for a spicy serving of jhalmuri, appreciated the taste, and interacted with families at the stall.
Jhalmuri is a well-known street food from West Bengal, prepared using puffed rice mixed with chopped onions, tomatoes, boiled potatoes, peanuts, chickpeas, chillies, mustard oil, lemon juice and a traditional spice blend known as bhaja moshla.
The visit came as PM Modi addressed four rallies across the state ahead of the first phase of Assembly elections scheduled for April 23.
