Prime Minister Narendra Modi held a telephone conversation with Hamad Bin Isa Al Khalifa on Monday and strongly condemned the recent attacks targeting Bahrain.
He conveyed India’s unwavering solidarity with the Kingdom and its citizens during this period of heightened tension.
Prime Minister Modi also expressed gratitude for the continued support extended to the Indian diaspora residing in Bahrain.
In a message posted on X, Prime Minister Modi described the discussion as productive. He affirmed that India stands firmly with Bahrain in the face of aggression.

He acknowledged the Bahraini leadership’s consistent assistance to the Indian community.
Earlier, the General Command of the Bahrain Defence Force confirmed that missile defence systems intercepted multiple projectiles launched towards the Kingdom.
According to official statements carried by Bahrain News Agency, defence forces neutralised 61 missiles and 34 unmanned aerial vehicles.
Authorities declared full operational readiness to counter any additional threats swiftly and decisively.
Escalation In Gulf Region
The General Command stated that the deployment of ballistic missiles and drones against civilian infrastructure and private property constitutes a serious breach of international humanitarian law.
Officials emphasised violations of the principles of distinction and proportionality.
They described the attacks as indiscriminate and unlawful, posing a direct threat to regional stability.
Bahrain asserted its legitimate right to adopt all necessary measures to safeguard sovereignty and national security.
Authorities urged residents to remain vigilant, avoid unnecessary movement, and rely exclusively on verified information.
Citizens were advised to disregard rumours and avoid affected locations.
On Sunday, Bahrain’s Ministry of Interior reported that an Iranian strike targeted a maritime installation near Salman Port.
Civil Defence units responded promptly to contain the resulting fire.
The confrontation follows joint military operations conducted by the United States and Israel against Iran, aimed at dismantling Tehran’s missile capabilities and strategic infrastructure.
Reports indicated that senior Iranian leaders, including Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, died in the initial phase.
Tehran subsequently launched retaliatory drone and missile strikes across the Gulf.
