
PM Narendra Modi has praised India’s young innovators for playing a central role in shaping the country’s technological transformation and accelerating its march towards self-reliance.
Reflecting on the progress of the past 11 years, the Prime Minister said the Digital India initiative has empowered the youth to channel their creativity and innovation, placing India firmly on the global technology map.
PM Modi emphasised that the widespread adoption of technology over the last decade has delivered substantial benefits to citizens across the country.
Taking to X, PM Modi posted, “Powered by the youth of India, we are making remarkable progress in innovation and application of technology. It is also strengthening our efforts to become self-reliant and a global tech powerhouse.”

The Prime Minister made the remarks while replying to a post shared by MyGovIndia on the same platform.

Highlighting 11 years of Digital Governance
The Centre is currently observing 11 years of governance by highlighting key accomplishments.
In a post, the government outlined how Digital India has reshaped the country’s administrative and social landscape. It noted that a quiet digital revolution had begun 11 years ago, reshaping how India connects, governs and grows.
A government press release underlined, “Under PM Modi’s visionary leadership, the Digital India initiative has turned technology into a tool for empowerment – bridging gaps, unlocking opportunities, and making governance more accessible and transparent for every citizen.”
It highlighted milestones such as internet access in remote locations and India’s global leadership in real-time digital payments, stating that the transformation has touched lives beyond numbers – emphasising people, progress and potential.
The government described the journey as one of inclusive development, innovation, and India’s rise as a digital leader.

Massive jump in DBT under tech reform
Providing more context to the government’s digital push, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman cited a massive jump in direct benefit transfer (DBT) volumes over the past decade, led by technological reform.
She further noted that India has emerged as the global leader in real-time digital payments, processing transactions worth over Rs 260 lakh crore in 2024–25.
“From Rs 7,368 crore in 2013-14 to Rs 6.83 lakh crore in 2024-25, there has been a 90X+ rise in DBT transfer in just a decade under Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri @narendramodi‘s leadership, ensuring that every rupee reaches to every citizen,” the Finance Minister posted on X.
