Dr S. Jaishankar’s Distinguished Career In Diplomacy
S. Jaishankar has served as India’s External Affairs Minister since May 30, 2019, and is a Member of the Rajya Sabha, representing the state of Gujarat. With a long and distinguished career in diplomacy, he has held several important positions, including serving as India’s Foreign Secretary from 2015 to 2018.
Jaishankar has also been India’s Ambassador to the United States (2013–2015), China (2009–2013), and the Czech Republic (2000–2004). In addition, he served as India’s High Commissioner to Singapore (2007–2009) and has had significant diplomatic assignments in Moscow, Colombo, Budapest, and Tokyo.
Meanwhile, as India’s External Affairs Minister, Jaishankar continues to play a vital role in shaping the nation’s foreign policy initiatives. His leadership has been pivotal in strengthening India’s global presence and fostering strategic relationships with countries worldwide.
