Prime Minister Narendra Modi transformed Veer Bal Diwas into a powerful celebration of youthful courage, talent, and national commitment as he engaged warmly with the Pradhan Mantri Rashtriya Bal Puraskar awardees at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi.
Through personal interactions and heartfelt encouragement, the Prime Minister underscored a central message: India’s future draws strength from the character, dreams, and discipline of its children.
The interaction followed the formal awards ceremony held on Friday.
President Droupadi Murmu conferred the prestigious honours on children selected from 18 states and Union Territories. Each awardee displayed exceptional bravery, innovation, service, or excellence. Prime Minister Modi repeatedly described these qualities as the cornerstone of a strong, self-reliant nation.
PM Modi’s conversation with young chess champion Vaka Lakshmi Pragnika reflected his ability to connect effortlessly with India’s emerging achievers.
Representing the country at the World School Chess competition, Pragnika clinched a gold medal for India.
The Prime Minister praised her focus and ambition, encouraging her to think globally while remaining rooted in Indian values. The exchange, peppered with light-hearted moments, revealed PM Modi’s personal approach to motivating young talent.
Her soulful rendition of ‘Vande Mataram’ visibly moved PM Modi, who applauded her for channelling national pride through art and culture. He further highlighted how such expressions strengthen India’s unity beyond language and geography.
Another interaction that captured national attention featured Shravan Singh, a young boy from Firozpur, Punjab. His quiet courage during Operation Sindoor earned widespread admiration across the country.
Shravan narrated how he supported Indian soldiers daily with milk, tea, lassi, and ice.
PM Modi listened intently, praised his selflessness, and encouraged his dream of becoming an Army officer. The moment reinforced PM Modi’s consistent emphasis on service, discipline, and respect for the armed forces.
Innovation also took centre stage when young technologist Arnav Anupriya Maharshi presented two Made-in-India solutions. He demonstrated an AI-based software that analyses finger movements to aid patients with paralysis and cerebral palsy, along with a smart wrist device for full-hand rehabilitation.
PM Modi lauded the innovations as proof that India’s youth can lead the global technology curve with empathy-driven solutions.
Para-athlete Kumari Jyoti, an Under-20 Asian medallist, shared her journey with the Prime Minister and expressed her ambition to win Paralympic gold for India.
PM Modi praised her resilience and highlighted how inclusive policies and encouragement empower every Indian to excel.
The programme also honoured the supreme sacrifice of Guru Gobind Singh’s Sahibzades, reinforcing the spiritual and historical significance of Veer Bal Diwas.
PM Modi concluded by paying tributes to the Sahibzades and congratulating the awardees. He further asserted that their courage and dreams embody the moral strength of a rising India.
Through this engagement, PM Modi reaffirmed his vision of nation-building, one where young achievers lead with courage, innovation, and an unshakeable commitment to India’s future.
