The counting of postal ballots commenced at 8 AM, followed by EVM vote counting from 8.30 AM.
The Election Commission has deployed stringent, multi-tier security across all counting centres, with Central Armed Police Forces securing inner perimeters and Bihar police managing outer cordons.
By around 9 AM, the BJP, a principal NDA partner, had taken an early lead in several key seats, setting the tone for what appears to be a strong performance by the ruling alliance.
NDA strategists and political analysts credit much of this early momentum to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vigorous campaign trail.
During the election period, PM Modi addressed 14 rallies and conducted a roadshow, focusing on districts seen as electorally crucial.

PM Modi’s assertion that the record voter turnout reflected the public’s desire to retain the NDA government appears to have resonated across constituencies.
Notably, areas where the Prime Minister campaigned recorded significantly higher turnout when compared with those he did not visit.
Bihar witnessed an enthusiastic voter response, with the first phase showing a robust turnout.
Moreover, the second phase recorded an even higher provisional turnout of 67.14 per cent, signalling widespread participation.

The Mahagathbandhan, trailing considerably in early trends, faces a steep challenge as the day progresses.
