PM Modi travelled by Delhi Metro to SRCC, interacting with students, schoolchildren and commuters during the 20-minute journey.

PM Modi Takes Delhi Metro Ride With Schoolchildren Before SRCC Centenary Address

Prime Minister Narendra Modi took a Delhi Metro train on Saturday while travelling towards Delhi University for an event at Shri Ram College of Commerce (SRCC) marking its centenary celebrations.

The Prime Minister spent nearly 20 minutes travelling with schoolchildren, students and other commuters after boarding the train at around 7 PM. His presence created an unusual moment for passengers who encountered him during their routine journey.

PM Modi spoke casually with several students during the ride and asked them about their hobbies, interests and ambitions.

One boy seated beside the Prime Minister leaned towards him and quietly shared a heartfelt wish before shaking hands with him.

Another student connected the interaction with Teachers’ Day and described the Prime Minister as an inspiration for younger people.

Another commuter similarly praised PM Modi for motivating people across the country.

The Prime Minister exchanged words with women travelling in the coach. During the journey, he noticed an infant passenger and wished the child an ‘Advance Happy birthday’ ahead of their first birthday.

A woman from Varanasi, which PM Modi represents in Parliament, spoke about the city’s progress and said its residents were pleased with the changes taking place there.

Videos shared on social media showed PM Modi using his travel card at the Metro station’s ticket gate before proceeding to the platform. He subsequently boarded a Yellow Line train heading towards Vishwavidyalaya Metro station.

PM Modi has used Delhi Metro on several occasions in the past.

In 2023, the Prime Minister travelled by train to Delhi University during its centenary celebrations, while in 2015 he used the Metro to reach an event associated with the Faridabad extension line. In February 2026, he also travelled on the Meerut Metro before getting off at Meerut South Station.
