As India marks the Prime Minister’s 75th birthday on Wednesday, the effects of his flagship initiatives are evident across the country.
West Midnapore in West Bengal is one such region experiencing tangible benefits.
The Prime Minister’s Bhartiya Janaushadhi Pariyojana (PMBJP) has brought affordable, high-quality medicines to thousands of families in the district.
Since its launch in November 2016, the scheme has transformed healthcare access for lower and middle-income households, making essential medicines more economical and widely available.
Jan Aushadhi Kendras in West Midnapore provide generic medicines at pocket-friendly prices, ensuring that no resident has to compromise on health due to financial constraints.
Tarun Kumar Pal, a local pharmacist and Kendra owner, stated, “On PM Modi’s birthday, we celebrate not just his years but the hope and support his initiatives bring. Hundreds of people visit daily, and many doctors recommend medicines from these Kendras. The feedback is very encouraging.”
Residents like Suraj Sinha shared their experiences: “Thanks to PM Modi’s scheme, I buy quality medicines at much lower prices. I hope more such Kendras open across India.”
Similarly, SK Sahajada added, “The medicines here are affordable and just as effective as branded ones. This scheme has truly changed our lives.”
The success of Jan Aushadhi Kendras in West Midnapore highlights the government’s focus on accessible healthcare.
Families who once struggled to afford essential medicines now have a reliable source of support, with many expressing gratitude to the Prime Minister on his milestone birthday.
As the nation celebrates the Prime Minister’s 75th year, the West Midnapore example stands as a testament to his government’s commitment to affordable healthcare and the positive impact of well-designed public initiatives.
