Raut Announces Break from Public Life
Earlier in the day, Raut announced that he would remain away from public engagements for the next two months due to deteriorating health. In a heartfelt letter addressed to his friends, family, and party workers, he revealed that he was undergoing treatment and following medical advice to avoid public gatherings.
“You all have always believed in me and loved me. But suddenly, it has come to light that there has been some serious deterioration in my health. I am undergoing treatment and will recover soon,” Raut wrote, assuring supporters that he would return by the new year.
Known for his sharp political commentary and daily interactions with the media, Raut skipped his routine press briefing on Friday. Family sources later confirmed that he has been admitted to a city hospital for medical evaluation.
Upon hearing of his condition, several leaders across party lines extended their wishes for his recovery. SS-UBT deputy leader Sushma Andhare praised Raut’s resilience and leadership, saying, “Get well soon. Even if you cannot mingle publicly, you will continue to guide our ideological fight.”
She added that Maharashtra continues to see Raut as a symbol of loyalty and courage, noting, “Every oppressed person and everyone exhausted by the BJP’s tyranny stands firmly behind a fighter like you.”
State BJP media in-charge Navnath Ban also conveyed his good wishes, saying, “Get well soon, Sanjay Raut, and return to the field to hold your press conferences again.”
