Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday visited Washim, Maharashtra, and met with saints from the Banjara community. He praised their efforts in serving society and interacted with women from the community who welcomed him. PM Modi shared his appreciation in a post on X, highlighting his meeting with the Banjara saints.
In Thane, PM Modi met Veena Bhatia Ji, who has been working for the Party since the Jan Sangh days.
Inauguration of Banjara Virasat Museum and Temple Visit
During his visit, PM Modi performed darshan at the Jagdamba Mata Temple in Poharadevi. He paid tribute to Sant Sevalal Maharaj and Sant Ramrao Maharaj. He also inaugurated the five-floor Banjara Virasat Museum, showcasing the rich cultural heritage of the Banjara community, a significant pilgrimage site in Maharashtra.
PM Modi Criticizes Congress at Public Rally
Addressing a rally in Washim, PM Modi accused the Congress of being anti-farmer and ignoring the Banjara community after independence. He urged Maharashtra’s people to support the BJP and MahaYuti, emphasizing their pro-development agenda. He also inaugurated development projects worth ₹32,880 crore, including the first phase of Mumbai Metro Line 3 and the Thane circular metro rail project, while distributing the next installment of PM Kisan Samman Nidhi.
