PM Modi visits Lepcha, Himachal Pradesh, to celebrate Diwali with military personnel

To celebrate Diwali with soldiers, Prime Minister Narendra Modi traveled to Lepcha, Himachal Pradesh, early on Sunday morning. “Arrived at Lepcha, Himachal Pradesh, to celebrate Diwali alongside our courageous security forces,” Prime Minister Modi posted images and a message on X, the former name for Twitter.

The PM also released pictures of himself posing with security guards and wearing military garb.

In Siachen, the PM and security personnel commemorated the holiday in 2014. He paid respects to the Indian Army’s victories in the 1965 war by touring three memorials in Punjab the following year. He met with men in uniform from the Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP), the Dogra Scouts, and the army at Sumdoh in 2016 when on a visit to Himachal Pradesh, close to the Chinese border. The Prime Minister visited the Gurez region in North Kashmir in 2017, spent Diwali in Uttarakhand’s Harsil where he surprised the military, visited the soldiers in Rajouri, Jammu and Kashmir, in 2019, and was at the Longewala border station in 2020.

He attended the Nowshera celebration in Jammu and Kashmir in 2021. Modi celebrated Diwali with the soldiers in Kargil last year.

In the meantime, Prime Minister Modi wished everyone a happy Diwali earlier in the day. Greetings on Diwali to all! In a post on X, he wished for everyone to experience joy, prosperity, and excellent health as a result of this unique holiday.

Notably, every year on the fifteenth day of the month of Kartik, Amavasya, also known as the new moon, is when Diwali is celebrated. The celebration, sometimes referred to as the “festival of lights,” represents the triumph of good over evil and light over darkness.
