Prime Minister Narendra Modi, returning from a two-day visit to Bhutan on Wednesday, immediately visited the Lok Nayak Jai Prakash Narayan (LNJP) Hospital to meet survivors of the deadly blast near Delhi’s Red Fort Metro Station.
At the hospital, PM Modi interacted with the injured, offering words of comfort and wishing them a swift recovery. Hospital officials and doctors also briefed him about the condition of those admitted.
Later on the day, taking to the official account X, PM Wrote, “Went to LNJP Hospital and met those injured during the blast in Delhi. Praying for everyone’s quick recovery. Those behind the conspiracy will be brought to justice!”
Earlier during his visit to Thimphu, Bhutan, the Prime Minister expressed deep sorrow over the incident, describing it as ‘tragic’ and assuring that the government would take ‘strictest action’ against the culprits. He emphasised the nation’s solidarity with the affected families.
The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has formed a 10-member special team, led by ADG Vijay Sakhare, to investigate the blast.
The team comprises an IG, two DIGs, three SPs, and DSP-level officers. This move follows the Home Ministry’s decision to hand over the investigation to the NIA on Tuesday.
Union Home Minister Amit Shah, who reviewed multi-state searches linked to the blast, reiterated PM Modi’s commitment to ensuring justice. “No stone will be left unturned,” HM Shah said while instructing top security officials to resolve the case swiftly.
The blast, which occurred on the evening of November 10 when a Haryana-registered car exploded near Gate No1 of the Metro Station, claimed at least eight lives and injured dozens.
Investigators are examining over 1,000 CCTV footage clips and collecting mobile phone data from the vicinity to identify suspects and their communication networks. Agencies suspect that attackers carried out the explosion as a suicide attack to inflict maximum damage.
Authorities have issued high alerts in Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, and Mumbai, and have heightened security at crowded public areas and religious sites. The NIA, the Intelligence Bureau, and the Delhi Police Special Cell are coordinating closely to expedite the probe.
