PM Modi Urges Citizens To Join Har Ghar Tiranga Campaign Ahead Of Independence Day

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday urged citizens to actively participate in the Centre’s ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ campaign as the nation prepares to celebrate its 80th Independence Day.

This year, the campaign follows the theme ‘Vande Mataram’, which also marks its 150th anniversary.

Taking to X, PM Modi reposted a Ministry of Culture post and described the Tricolour as a source of pride and motivation for citizens to contribute to the nation. He urged people to participate enthusiastically in the ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ movement and renew their collective resolve to contribute towards building a Viksit Bharat.

The Prime Minister also welcomed the campaign’s focus on Vande Mataram during the year marking its 150th anniversary.

The Ministry of Culture said the call of Vande Mataram has stirred the soul of the nation for 150 years. It urged citizens to participate in Tiranga Yatras, rallies, concerts and mass singing of Vande Mataram.

The Ministry also highlighted ‘Suryapath Tiranga’, describing it as a first-of-its-kind celebration intended to unite Indians across the globe.

Citizens have been urged to hoist the Tricolour at their homes and upload selfies on the official Har Ghar Tiranga website.

Earlier on Sunday, the Bharatiya Janata Party launched ‘Tiranga Yatra’ programmes across several states to honour freedom fighters and their sacrifices.

In Madhya Pradesh, Chief Minister Mohan Yadav participated in a Tiranga Yatra in Bhopal, while Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath joined a rally in Lucknow.

CM Mohan Yadav highlighted the sacrifices of revolutionaries, martyrs and freedom fighters, while CM Yogi Adityanath said the youth should receive the right platform and traditional education to prepare for challenges facing the country and society.
