PM Modi Urges Bihar’s Youth To Choose Progress; Takes A Dig At Opposition’s ‘Mahalathbandhan’

Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed a massive rally in Begusarai, urging the youth of Bihar to vote for development and continuity of good governance.

Taking a sharp dig at the Mahagathbandhan (Grand Alliance), he coined a new term — ‘Mahalathbandhan’ — to describe the infighting and seat-sharing disputes within the opposition.

Before his Begusarai address, PM Modi visited Jannayak Karpoori Thakur’s birthplace, where he accused the RJD-Congress alliance of dragging Bihar into ‘jungle raj’ and neglecting its people for decades.

In his address, PM Modi made an emotional appeal to Bihar’s young voters, reminding them of the 2005 elections when their parents chose change and good governance over misrule.

“It was in October 2005 that your parents freed Bihar from jungle raj. Now, this October-November of 2025 brings a new opportunity and a great responsibility for you — to build a prosperous Bihar for yourselves and for future generations,” he said.

PM Modi asserted that the NDA government rescued Bihar from decades of lawlessness and stagnation and is now focused on transforming it into a ‘Viksit Bihar’ through infrastructure, industry, and employment growth.

Attack on Mahagathbandhan

PM Modi criticised the RJD and Congress, calling them symbols of corruption and dynastic politics. He alleged that both parties prioritise personal gain over public welfare.

“On one side, you have progressive leaders, and on the other, you have Mahalathbandhan — an alliance of selfish interests,” he quipped.

He went on to say that the RJD represents Bihar’s ‘most corrupt family’, while Congress is the ‘most corrupt family in the country’, noting that several members of both families are currently out on bail.

Highlighting Bihar’s industrial past, PM Modi recalled that the state once thrived with refineries, fertiliser factories, and power hubs, all of which declined under the previous regimes.

“The jungle raj destroyed everything and closed the factories. Those who ruled then secured their own families, leaving the people of Bihar behind,” he said.

He reaffirmed that the NDA government has laid the foundation for a prosperous, self-reliant Bihar, with the elimination of jungle raj marking just the first step.

“Bihar will move forward with new speed when the NDA government returns to power,” PM Modi declared, as the crowd responded with enthusiastic cheers.

PM Modi concluded by assuring the people of Bihar that his government remains committed to development, employment, safety, and stability, promising that the coming years will mark Bihar’s transformation into a state of opportunity and progress.
