Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday paid tribute to Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya on his death anniversary, describing him as a guiding light for successive generations.
Taking to X, PM Modi posted, “To the unparalleled devotee of the Motherland, Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay ji, respectful homage on his sacred death anniversary. His principles and thoughts, rooted in values, will continue to remain a guiding light for every generation of the country.”

Union Home Minister Amit Shah also remembered Upadhyaya on his punyatithi, calling him a pioneer of Antyodaya and Integral Humanism. He further noted that Upadhyaya’s belief that the progress of the person standing in the last row reflects the true development of the nation would continue to inspire generations engaged in nation-building.

Similarly, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh paid his respects, describing Upadhyaya as a selfless Karmayogi and an eminent thinker. The Minister noted that the philosophy of Integral Humanism and the mantra of Antyodaya continue to guide efforts towards building a self-reliant India.

In Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath offered floral tributes to Upadhyaya’s portrait. He emphasised that the Bharatiya Jana Sangh leader and propounder of Integral Humanism remains an enduring source of inspiration.
CM Adityanath further stated that Upadhyaya’s vision of strengthening the nation and ensuring development reaches the last person in society continues to hold relevance today.

Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya, a distinguished political thinker, economist, and leader of the Bharatiya Jana Sangh, developed the philosophy of Integral Humanism (Ekatma Manav Darshan), emphasising development rooted in India’s cultural values.
Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya promoted a vision of growth that balances the needs of individuals, society, and the environment, rather than focusing solely on material advancement. He led the Jana Sangh until his premature death in 1968, and his ideas continue to influence political discourse and policymaking across the country.
Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya’s ideals of holistic development, social service, and ethical leadership continue to guide policymakers and citizens, preserving his legacy as an enduring source of inspiration for India’s progress.
