Semicon India-2025

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate ‘Semicon India-2025’ on Tuesday at Yashobhoomi, New Delhi, an event designed to strengthen and expand India’s semiconductor ecosystem.

The three-day conference, running from 2 to 4 September, will emphasise building a robust, resilient and sustainable semiconductor framework for the country.

Sessions will address progress under the Semicon India Programme, projects on semiconductor fabrication and advanced packaging, infrastructure readiness, smart manufacturing, research and development in artificial intelligence, investment opportunities, and the implementation of state-level policies.

The event will host more than 350 exhibiting companies from 33 countries and regions, alongside a record participation of global stakeholders. It is being jointly organised by the India Semiconductor Mission (ISM) under the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) and SEMI, the international semiconductor industry association.

Industry leaders, researchers, government representatives and innovators will come together to advance collaboration and push technological progress across the supply chain.

Since the launch of ISM in 2021, India has moved rapidly from vision to execution in its semiconductor ambitions.

To reinforce this momentum, the government announced a Rs 76,000 crore Production Linked Incentive (PLI) scheme, with commitments of nearly Rs 65,000 crore already in place.

‘Semicon India-2025’ will underscore India’s evolving role in the global semiconductor landscape.

South Asia’s Largest Semiconductor Gathering

The event will include close to 350 exhibitors, more than 15,000 expected visitors, six country round tables, four international pavilions, and participation from nine Indian states, making it South Asia’s largest gathering for the semiconductor and electronics industries.

The programme will showcase ten approved strategic projects covering high-volume fabs, advanced packaging, compound semiconductors, outsourced semiconductor assembly and testing (OSATs), and government-backed initiatives for start-ups and research.

Under the theme ‘Building the Next Semiconductor Powerhouse’, the conference will highlight trends and innovation in areas such as fabs, advanced packaging, AI, supply chain resilience, sustainability, workforce development, design and start-up growth.

Bengaluru (2022), Gandhinagar (2023), and Greater Noida (2024) hosted the previous editions of Semicon India.
