Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s September 8 visit to Gujarat and Maharashtra will deliver a major infrastructure push. The programme covers development projects worth more than Rs 35,000 crore.

In Vadodara, projects exceeding Rs 35,200 crore will be inaugurated, dedicated or launched.
Central government works account for over Rs 32,606 crore. State projects exceed Rs 2,597 crore.
The largest component involves three WDFC sections covering 326 route kilometres.
The Rs 20,703-crore package includes New Sanand (North)-New Makarpura, New Umargam-New Safale and New Safale-New JNPT sections. Their commissioning will complete the WDFC.
The corridor will connect freight directly with JNPT, accelerate export-import cargo movement and lower logistics costs. PM Modi said it would provide ‘a big boost to the logistics sector’.
Freight services will start from New Sanand, New Makarpura, New Umargam and New JNPT.
A Vadodara-Tanda Road train service will benefit passengers across Vadodara, Chhota Udepur and Alirajpur.
Railway works worth over Rs 30,766 crore include the Jobat-Tanda Road line and 259-km third and fourth lines between Vadodara and Ratlam.
Road projects exceeding Rs 1,840 crore include major Tapi and Narmada bridges, six-laning works and grade-separated junctions.
State projects cover urban development, water, energy and housing. They include Vadodara Ring Road Phase II, water infrastructure for 11 villages, a 110 MW floating solar project at Kadana Dam and 13,888 rural houses.
PM Modi will visit Navsari before travelling to Mumbai for the Global Fintech Festival 2026.
