
Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Andhra Pradesh on Thursday to inaugurate and lay the foundation for a series of major development projects worth ₹13,430 crore.
The visit underlines the Centre’s commitment to fostering regional development and industrial growth, particularly in the Rayalaseema region.
At Kurnool, PM Modi will address a public meeting, where Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu has invited him to speak as part of the state’s ‘Super GST–Super Saving’ campaign.
The initiative aims to raise awareness about the latest reforms in the Goods and Services Tax system, promoting transparency and economic efficiency.
Before launching the projects, PM Modi will perform Pooja and Darshan at the revered Sri Bhramaramba Mallikarjuna Swamy Varla Devasthanam in Srisailam, one of the 12 Jyotirlingas. He will also visit the Sree Shivaji Spoorthi Kendra nearby, paying homage to India’s cultural and spiritual heritage.
Power Transmission and Renewable Energy
Among the key projects, PM Modi will lay the foundation stone for a ₹2,880 crore transmission system at the Kurnool-III Pooling Station. This includes the construction of a 765 kV double-circuit line to Chilakaluripeta, enhancing capacity by 6,000 MVA. It is expected to facilitate the large-scale integration of renewable energy into the national grid.
PM Modi will also lay the foundation stones for two major industrial areas, Orvakal in Kurnool and Kopparthy in Kadapa, with investments exceeding ₹4,920 crore.
NICDIT and APIIC developed these modern hubs, provide plug-and-play infrastructure, attract ₹21,000 crore in investment, and create nearly 1 lakh jobs.
A major highlight includes the launch of a six-lane Greenfield Highway from Sabbavaram to Sheelanagar, worth ₹960 crore, to ease congestion in Visakhapatnam. Six additional road projects worth ₹1,140 crore will also be inaugurated.
In the railway sector, PM Modi will launch projects exceeding ₹1,200 crore, including the foundation stones for the Kottavalasa–Vizianagaram fourth line and a flyover near Simhachalam, along with completed sections now open for public use.
Energy and LPG Supply
The Prime Minister will dedicate the ₹1,730 crore Srikakulam–Angul Natural Gas Pipeline, a critical energy corridor passing through Andhra Pradesh and Odisha. He will also inaugurate a ₹200 crore Indian Oil LPG bottling plant in Chittoor, which will supply over 7 lakh customers across southern India.
To support ‘Aatmanirbhar Bharat’, PM Modi will inaugurate the Advanced Night Vision Products Factory in Nimmaluru, Krishna district.
Developed by Bharat Electronics Limited at a cost of ₹360 crore, the facility will produce cutting-edge electro-optical systems for India’s armed forces, boosting both defence self-reliance and skilled employment.
