PM Modi To Launch Industrial Infrastructure Projects In Gujarat On March 31

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate a series of major industrial infrastructure projects in Gujarat on March 31, with a combined investment of Rs 271.20 crore.

The initiatives, executed by the Gujarat Industrial Development Corporation, focus on strengthening facilities in Sanand and Naroda industrial estates near Ahmedabad.

A flagship component includes a Rs 244-crore drainage system in Sanand, designed to resolve persistent monsoon flooding.

Officials stated that the development offers a lasting solution and will transform the estate into a ‘zero waterlogging’ zone.

The Sanand Industrial Estate spans nearly 2,056 hectares and hosts over 1,150 operational units across sectors such as semiconductors, automobiles, and pharmaceuticals.

To address water accumulation, authorities have completed two major drainage networks.

An 18.71 km reinforced concrete stormwater drain now runs along both sides of the estate, effectively channelling internal and upstream water.

Additionally, an 18.35 km drainage network has been constructed near entry points along the Sanand-Viramgam highway.

Authorities have completed infrastructure upgrades worth Rs 27.20 crore in Naroda Industrial Estate under the Assistance for Industrial Infrastructure scheme.

Naroda Industrial Estate is one of the state’s oldest industrial zones, established in 1963. These works include road strengthening and widening, construction of stormwater drains, and lining of natural channels.

Officials have also developed paved areas covering 1.19 lakh square metres for pedestrian pathways and parking.

The project adds modern street lighting, high-mast illumination, security cabins, and sanitation facilities to enhance usability and safety.

Authorities noted that these upgrades will improve logistical efficiency, facilitate smoother movement of goods, and elevate operational standards for industries.

Thousands of small and large enterprises across both estates will benefit directly.

The project, however, aims to enhance Gujarat’s appeal for global investors by delivering robust and reliable infrastructure.

Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel, Deputy Chief Minister Harsh Sanghavi, senior cabinet members, and industry representatives will attend the inauguration ceremony.

The event will witness the presence of key stakeholders from government and industry.
