PM Modi To Inaugurate Swami Vivekananda Cultural Youth Centre In Mysuru Today

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the Swami Vivekananda Cultural Youth Centre; Viveka Smaraka at the Sri Ramakrishna Ashrama in Mysuru, Karnataka, on Saturday.

The centre will promote youth empowerment through value-based education, leadership development, personality building and the spirit of nation-building.

Ahead of the inauguration, Swami Tyagishwarananda, Secretary of Ramakrishna Ashrama, Davangere, said the centre aims to educate and inspire young people by following the ideals of Swami Vivekananda.

“It is certainly empowering, without any doubt. Looking at the achievements of Prime Minister Narendra Modi as the Prime Minister of this country, we can see that he has focused on strengthening the fundamentals, improving education, expanding access to learning, promoting India’s culture, and reinforcing the country’s Sanatan Dharma heritage. He has been working tirelessly towards these goals,” he stated.

The Viveka Smaraka commemorates Swami Vivekananda’s historic visit to Mysuru in November 1892 during his journey across India.

The centre will preserve his message of character building, knowledge, service and youth leadership through learning and self-development.

Swami Tyagishwarananda said the institution seeks to educate, motivate and guide India’s youth.

“Our aim is to remove ignorance through the ideal of ‘Atmano Mokshartham Jagat Hitaya Cha’, to seek one’s own spiritual growth while working for the welfare of the world,” he added.

Swami Muktidananda, President of Mysuru Ramakrishna Ashrama, welcomed Prime Minister Modi. He also extended his heartfelt greetings ahead of the inauguration.

The centre features facilities for educational programmes, leadership training and cultural initiatives. It will encourage young people to contribute towards society and nation-building.

Ahead of the Prime Minister’s visit, authorities strengthened security across Mysuru.

Police deployed additional personnel, erected barricades and restricted public vehicles along the designated route from noon.

Officials also completed final preparations at the Ramakrishna Ashrama.

The inauguration is expected to advance Swami Vivekananda’s vision of youth empowerment, education, self-development and service to society.
