PM Modi To Inaugurate Seva Teerth As New Prime Minister’s Office

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will likely inaugurate ‘Seva Teerth’, the newly constructed complex that will serve as the Prime Minister’s Office in New Delhi.

The PMO is moving from the colonial-era South Block to the modern facility located along Kartavya Path.

This transition represents a landmark moment in the restructuring of India’s administrative framework.

The Seva Teerth complex will accommodate the Prime Minister’s Office, the National Security Council Secretariat and the Cabinet Secretariat, ensuring closer institutional coordination.

Officials have indicated that the Prime Minister will unveil the name ‘Seva Teerth’ at approximately 1:30 PM. He will subsequently inaugurate both Seva Teerth and Kartavya Bhavan-1 and 2.

In the evening, around 6 PM, he will address a public programme organised at the new premises.

The event highlights the government’s emphasis on strengthening institutional capacity through upgraded infrastructure.

Kartavya Bhavan-1 and Kartavya Bhavan-2 will host several important Union ministries. These include the Ministries of Finance, Defence, Health and Family Welfare, Education, Corporate Affairs, Culture, Law and Justice, Information and Broadcasting, Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, Chemicals and Fertilisers, and Tribal Affairs.

The new buildings have been designed to promote a modern and citizen-oriented governance model. They feature digitally connected office systems, designated public interaction areas and centralised reception counters to ensure smoother administrative processes.

The complexes comply with 4-Star GRIHA sustainability standards. They incorporate renewable energy sources, water-saving systems, effective waste management strategies and high-performance building materials to minimise environmental impact.

Safety and Security Measures

The authorities have equipped the premises with advanced safety and security systems. These include smart access controls, extensive surveillance networks and modern emergency response mechanisms.

The measures ensure a safe and accessible environment for both staff and visitors.

The relocation from South Block to the purpose-built complex in the Central Vista precinct marks a shift towards a future-ready administrative ecosystem.

The new infrastructure addresses previous limitations related to space, technology and operational efficiency.
