PM Modi To Chair Two-Day Chintan Shivir With Cabinet Ministers To Review Governance Priorities

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will chair a two-day ‘Chintan Shivir’ with Union Cabinet ministers from Wednesday at Seva Teerth in New Delhi. The session will continue on September 24.

The focused deliberations will review the government’s ongoing work, assess implementation and identify priorities for the next phase of governance.

The latest session will bring only Cabinet ministers together for focused discussions at the Union government’s highest level.

The meeting follows separate interactions Modi held with Ministers of State and Ministers of State with Independent Charge at his office. The sequence indicates consultations across different levels of the Council of Ministers.

The Chintan Shivir will focus on reforms, government schemes, policy implementation, inter-ministerial coordination and public service delivery.

Ministers will review policy execution, public service delivery and coordination between ministries.

Ministers will explore ways to improve governance and deliver better results through government initiatives.

The deliberations will further address priorities linked to the government’s Viksit Bharat 2047 vision.

The meeting comes amid speculation in political circles about a possible Cabinet reshuffle. However, there is no official confirmation that the Chintan Shivir is linked to, or will lead to, any reshuffle.

The session at Seva Teerth comes as the new government complex assumes a larger role in the functioning of the Prime Minister’s Office and Union government. The complex houses the PMO, National Security Council Secretariat and Cabinet Secretariat.

The two-day meeting will provide Cabinet ministers an opportunity to assess progress, identify coordination gaps and discuss policy priorities for the coming period.
