PM Modi Launches Logo For Centenary Celebrations Of Sri Vishwesha Tirtha Swamiji

Prime Minister Narendra Modi met Sri Sri Vishwaprasanna Tirtha Swamiji of Sri Pejavara Adhokshaja Matha in Udupi, Karnataka, and unveiled the logo for the birth centenary celebrations of Padma Vibhushan Yatikula Chakravarti Sri Vishwesha Tirtha Swamiji.

PM Modi highlighted the lasting influence of Sri Vishwesha Tirtha Swamiji and said his teachings continued to inspire people.

He also noted that the seer dedicated his life to devotion, learning and service, while the planned centenary programmes would carry those principles forward.

Sri Vishwesha Tirtha Swamiji (1931–2019) led the Pejavara Adhokshaja Matha in Udupi and remained an influential figure within the Udupi Sri Krishna tradition.

He entered the monastic order at eight and devoted more than eight decades to spiritual and social service.

The seer delivered discourses on the Bhagavad Gita, the Vedas and Madhva philosophy throughout his life. He also promoted Sanskrit education and established the Poornaprajna Vidyapeetha in Bengaluru in 1956.

Sri Vishwesha Tirtha Swamiji supported people affected by natural disasters, droughts and other emergencies through various social-service initiatives.

He also worked to promote social inclusion and challenged caste-based divisions through outreach to Dalit communities.

The centenary celebrations will feature programmes highlighting the seer’s teachings, contributions and principles. Organisers will use the occasion to promote the values associated with his spiritual and social legacy.
