Kartik Aaryan Calls National Award His Biggest Honour

Actor Kartik Aaryan has dedicated his National Award for Best Actor to Paralympians across the country, calling the honour one of the biggest milestones of his career.

Aaryan received the award at the 72nd National Film Awards ceremony, where President Droupadi Murmu presented him with the honour.

The actor later shared a video from the ceremony on Instagram along with an emotional note about his journey from Gwalior to becoming a National Award winner.

Recalling his early dreams of becoming an actor, Aaryan said he remained determined despite coming from an environment where people often laughed at such ambitions.

He credited director Kabir Khan and producer Sajid Nadiadwala for trusting him with the role of Murlikant Petkar in the sports biopic Chandu Champion.

Aaryan portrayed Petkar, India’s first Paralympic gold medallist, in the film. The actor shared the Best Actor honour with Malayalam cinema veteran Mammootty.

Describing the journey as painful but rewarding, Aaryan thanked his parents, friends and team for supporting him throughout his career.

He also expressed gratitude to the National Film Awards jury, the Information and Broadcasting Ministry and President Murmu.

Aaryan said he wanted to share the honour with every Paralympian in India and with people who continue to pursue seemingly impossible dreams. He also described the award as the beginning of what he hopes will be many more milestones in his career.
