PM Modi will address the Lok Sabha at 2 p.m. on Monday, focusing on key concerns arising from the ongoing West Asia conflict and its implications for India.
A day earlier, the Prime Minister chaired a high-level review meeting to assess the situation in critical sectors such as petroleum, crude oil, gas, power, and fertilisers.
The discussions centred on ensuring uninterrupted supply, maintaining stable logistics, and strengthening distribution systems to prevent any disruption in essential services.
Officials briefed PM Modi on current fuel availability and the measures being taken to safeguard India’s energy security.
Sources indicated that the government is closely monitoring global developments and has initiated proactive steps to shield consumers and industries from volatility in international markets.
Efforts are underway to maintain adequate reserves and reinforce supply chains amid rising geopolitical uncertainty.
The review comes at a time when global energy markets remain under pressure due to tensions in West Asia, a region vital to oil and gas supplies.
Concerns have also emerged over possible disruptions to key shipping routes, particularly the Strait of Hormuz, which handles a significant share of global energy trade.
Earlier, PM Modi held talks with Masoud Pezeshkian, stressing the importance of peace and the need to keep international shipping lanes secure.
India has also diversified its oil imports, sourcing more from the United States, Russia, and African nations such as Nigeria.
Officials said LPG supplies remain stable, with no disruption reported at the consumer level despite rising demand.
