Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Jammu on September 14 as part of his campaign for the 2024 Assembly Elections in Jammu and Kashmir. His visit is expected to attract a large audience and address several key regional issues. This trip is significant for the BJP as it aims to strengthen its foothold in the region before the upcoming elections. Modi’s visit will be his third high-profile appearance in Jammu and Kashmir, following visits by Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and Home Minister Amit Shah.
Defence Minister Rajnath Singh is scheduled to visit Jammu on Sunday to attend election rallies in the Ramban and Banihal constituencies. Home Minister Amit Shah recently toured the union territory on Friday and Saturday, where he released the BJP’s electoral manifesto. The manifesto outlines 25 major pledges, including tackling terrorism and separatism, enhancing women’s financial security, and boosting the region’s economy.
The BJP promises to support small enterprises and merchants while increasing pensions for the elderly, widows, and disabled individuals from Rs 1,000 to Rs 3,000. The party also aims to extend the Ayushman Bharat Sehat Scheme coverage from Rs 5 lakhs to Rs 2 lakhs to ensure affordable healthcare. Amit Shah emphasized that Article 370 is a matter of the past and will not be reinstated, reflecting the party’s stance on the issue.
