PM Narendra Modi on Tuesday took a veiled swipe at the Congress and RJD leaders Rahul Gandhi and Tejashwi Yadav, branding them as ‘naamdaars’, individuals born with a silver spoon who treat power as an inheritance.
He said such leaders cannot understand the struggles of poor mothers or the pain of their children.
Referring to alleged derogatory remarks made during the Voter Adhikar Yatra in Bihar last week, PM Modi said, “The struggles of a poor mother and the suffering of her son are beyond the comprehension of these princes born into royal families. To them, the country’s power is their family inheritance.”
The Prime Minister also accused the Congress of consistently opposing the rise of backwards and extremely backwards communities.
“Congress has never tolerated a backwards person moving ahead. They believe naamdaars have the right to abuse kaamdaars,” he said.
The Prime Minister credited the women of Bihar for playing a decisive role in removing RJD from power.
“Bihar came out of darkness after a long struggle. Women were instrumental in repeatedly defeating the RJD. That is why RJD and Congress are upset with you women today and want to take revenge,” he added.
The Prime Minister strongly condemned the abusive remarks allegedly directed at his late mother, calling them an insult to all mothers, sisters, and daughters of India.
“My mother, who was not connected to politics and is no longer alive, was abused by the stage of RJD and Congress. These abuses are not just an insult to my mother but to all women in the country,” he said.
PM Modi reminded the audience that this was not the first time he used the ‘Naamdar vs Kaamdar’ jibe. He cited earlier examples from election rallies in Madhya Pradesh, the 2019 Lok Sabha polls, and Congress’s ‘Chowkidar Chor Hai’ campaign.
He argued that dynastic leaders have always tried to belittle hardworking individuals.
“Naamdars have been abusing kaamdaars for centuries. Even if a kaamdar becomes Prime Minister, they will continue to abuse,” the PM said.
