Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday held a high-level meeting with Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, NSA Ajit Doval, CDS General Anil Chauhan, and the three service chiefs.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday held a high-level meeting with Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, NSA Ajit Doval, CDS General Anil Chauhan, and the three service chiefs. The meeting came amid Operation Sindoor and continued ceasefire violations by Pakistan.

PM Meets Military Commanders and Veterans

PM Modi also held detailed talks with former chiefs of the Army, Navy, and Air Force. He discussed India’s future response and strategy. Senior officials briefed him on the present situation along the Line of Control (LoC) and the international border.

Earlier in the day, the Indian Armed Forces briefed the media about the airspace violations. They confirmed Pakistan’s drone and missile attacks on the night of May 8 and 9. Indian air defence neutralised all threats effectively.

Colonel Sofiya Qureshi said Pakistan fired around 300–400 drones at 36 locations. The attacks took place along the western border. Preliminary findings suggest these drones may be Turkish Asisguard Songar. Forensic investigation is underway to confirm this.

Wing Commander Vyomika Singh said the aim was infiltration, intelligence gathering, and testing India’s defence. She confirmed that India’s response was swift and strong.

India Hits Back with Operation Sindoor

India launched Operation Sindoor to strike terror camps in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir. This came in retaliation to the Pahalgam terror attack on April 22, which killed 26 civilians.

Colonel Qureshi said Pakistan also used heavy-calibre weapons along the LoC on May 7 and 8. All attempts were foiled by India using both kinetic and non-kinetic means.

India’s robust defence response has left the Pakistani army rattled. The situation remains tense, but India continues to remain alert and ready.
