PM Narendra Modi strongly condemned Pakistan for the Pahalgam terror attack, accusing it of trying to disrupt peace and provoke communal unrest in India.
Addressing a large public gathering in Katra on Friday, PM Modi said, “Pakistan attacked Insaniyat and Kashmiriyat in Pahalgam. Their intent was to instigate communal riots and destroy the livelihoods of poor Kashmiris.”
The Prime Minister highlighted India’s swift retaliation through Operation Sindoor, launched a month after the attack.
“We went deep into Pakistan and destroyed their terror infrastructure. Their army never imagined we could go that far. Operation Sindoor will haunt them as a symbol of their defeat,” he said.
He accused Pakistan of retaliating through civilian shelling in Poonch and Jammu, damaging homes and places of worship.
Prime Minister Modi announced ₹2 lakh for severely and ₹1 lakh for partially damaged homes.
PM Modi announced the construction of 10,000 new bunkers for border residents and called them the nation’s first line of defence.
He emphasised India’s goal to become a top global defence exporter and urged citizens to support the ‘Made in India’ movement.
The Prime Minister inaugurated the Chenab and Anji Bridges, India’s highest railway arch and first cable-stayed bridges.
“These are not just engineering marvels but symbols of India’s resolve and progress,” he stated.
He launched projects worth ₹46,000 crore, including USBRL, infrastructure, and medical facilities.
PM Modi said that terrorism had once robbed J&K of its dreams, but the region is now on a new path. “J&K is the crown of India. Its youth are dreaming again and striving to realise those dreams,” he said.
He noted medical upgrades like new cancer institutes, seven colleges, and a rise in MBBS seats from 500 to 1,300.
Highlighting the NDA government’s welfare efforts, Prime Minister Modi said, “In 11 years, 25 crore poor rose above the poverty line.”
He cited key schemes such as Ujjwala, Ayushman Bharat, PM Kisan, and Jal Jeevan Mission.
PM Modi challenged critics who speak of social justice, urging them to look at the real beneficiaries—Dalits, Adivasis, and forest dwellers.
PM Modi also released a commemorative postal stamp celebrating the Chenab and Anji bridges and laid the foundation for the Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Institute of Medical Excellence.
Other inaugurations included the Sangrama Chowk and Bemina Junction flyovers.
Notable attendees included Lt Governor Manoj Sinha, Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw, Omar Abdullah, MoS Jitendra Singh, and Deputy CM Surinder Choudhary.
