
PM Narendra Modi on Thursday takes a scathing dig at Pakistan for attempting to derail peace and tourism in Jammu and Kashmir.
Speaking after inaugurating the world’s highest railway bridge over the Chenab River and India’s first cable-supported Anji Bridge, PM Modi accused Pakistan-based terrorists of targeting innocent tourists to cripple the local economy.
Pakistan Plotted To Harm Kashmir’s Livelihood: PM Modi
Addressing a massive public gathering, the Prime Minister said, “Pakistan conspired to kill tourists in Pahalgam with the intent to damage the livelihood of local Kashmiris.”
He emphasised that the terror attack aimed to halt the region’s growth and plunge the poor into deeper misery.
“Pakistani cowards attacked both humanity and Kashmiriyat in Pahalgam. Their motive was not just to kill but to provoke communal unrest across the country,” he said.
Remembers Victim Adil; Vows Justice
PM Modi recalled the story of Adil, a horse rider and the sole breadwinner of his family, who was among those killed in the April 22 Pahalgam attack. He assured the crowd that justice had been delivered through India’s prompt and powerful response.
The Prime Minister highlighted the success of Operation Sindoor and said it gave Pakistan “sleepless nights” after the Pahalgam attack.
“Now, whenever Pakistan hears the name Operation Sindoor, it will remember the shameful defeat it suffered,” PM Modi declared, drawing loud applause.
He asserted that Indian forces entered Pakistani territory, demolished their terror infrastructure, and sent a clear message that India will not tolerate cross-border terrorism.
Youth Of Kashmir Determined To Fight Terrorism
Prime Minister Modi praised the determination of Jammu and Kashmir’s youth in resisting terrorism.
“Today, the youth have resolved to give a befitting reply to those spreading terror. This is the new Jammu and Kashmir,” he said.
The Prime Minister also announced financial relief for those affected by Pakistani shelling along the border. “Families whose homes suffered major damage will receive ₹2 lakh, while those with partial damage will be given ₹1 lakh,” he added.
PM Modi Pushes For Atmanirbhar Bharat In Defence
The Prime Minister hailed the role of indigenous defence technology in the success of Operation Sindoor. “This operation proved the strength of Atmanirbhar Bharat. Today, the world is acknowledging India’s military capabilities,” he said.
He urged support for ‘Made in India’ and shared plans to make India a top defence exporter, creating jobs.
“Our mission is to place India among the top defence exporters globally,” he concluded.
