Prime Minister Narendra Modi held a telephone conversation with Sheikh Sabah Al-Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Mubarak Al-Sabah on Wednesday to deliberate on the rapidly changing situation in West Asia. Both sides shared their perspectives and voiced concern over the latest regional developments.
Taking to X, PM Modi posted, “Spoke with HH Sheikh Sabah Al-Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Mubarak Al-Sabah, Crown Prince of Kuwait and conveyed greetings on the upcoming festival of Eid. We exchanged views on the evolving situation in West Asia and shared concerns over recent developments. Reiterated India’s condemnation of attacks on Kuwait’s sovereignty and territorial integrity. Ensuring safe and free navigation through the Strait of Hormuz remains our foremost priority.”
“We agreed that sustained diplomatic engagement remains essential for regional peace and stability. I thanked him for continued support for the safety and wellbeing of the Indian community in Kuwait,” the post further read.

Amid the ongoing crisis, India has expanded its diplomatic engagement with several regional partners. These include the United Arab Emirates, Israel, Iran, Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Bahrain, Oman and Qatar to support de-escalation efforts.
Earlier, PM Modi also held discussions with Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan. Both leaders reviewed the situation and strongly condemned attacks that caused civilian casualties and damage to infrastructure in the UAE.
“Spoke with my brother HH Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE and conveyed advance Eid greetings. We discussed the current situation in West Asia. Reiterated India’s strong condemnation of all attacks on the UAE that have resulted in loss of innocent lives and damage to civilian infrastructure,” the post read.
It further added, “We agreed on the importance of ensuring safe and free navigation through the Strait of Hormuz. We will continue to work together for the early restoration of peace, security and stability in the region.”
