PM Modi On Selective Politics

In his address replying to the Motion of Thanks on President’s Address in the Rajya Sabha, Prime Minister Narendra Modi criticized the Opposition for what he termed ‘selective politics’ regarding atrocities against women, describing it as a matter of grave concern.

During his speech, PM Modi underscored the recent Sandeshkhali incident in West Bengal, where a woman suffered brutal flogging in a viral video, pointing out the silence of prominent leaders from various parties on the issue.

“Even those who advocate for women’s safety and claim to be progressive women leaders have chosen to remain silent, possibly to safeguard their political equations,” PM remarked.

Emphasizing India’s strides in women’s development, PM Modi stated, “While developed countries often overlook women-led development, India has made significant advancements visible across all sectors.”

PM Modi Acknowledges Rajya Sabha MP Sudha Murthy’s Advocacy On Women’s Health

Expressing gratitude to Rajya Sabha MP Sudha Murthy for her advocacy on women’s health, PM Modi underscored the government’s decade-long efforts in prioritizing women’s health, sanitation, and overall well-being.

“Initiatives ranging from toilets, sanitary pads, and gas connections to enhanced vaccination facilities during pregnancy have benefited women across the country,” PM affirmed.

PM Modi further highlighted the government’s commitment to empowering women through housing schemes, financial inclusion, and self-reliance initiatives.

“Out of the four crore houses constructed, a majority are for women,” he noted, adding that increased access to bank accounts has enabled women to participate more actively in financial decisions through schemes like Mudra, Sukanya, and Samruddhi.

Speaking on the impact of Self-Help Groups (SHGs), PM Modi pointed out that nearly one crore women have become ‘Lakhpati Didis’, with plans to extend this success to three crore women. “Our goal is for women to lead in every sector,” PM affirmed.

To facilitate quicker access to new technologies for women, PM Modi highlighted the ‘Namo Didi’ program, which has introduced drones in rural areas to aid farmers, thereby catalyzing women’s development.

The Prime Minister reiterated his commitment to advancing women’s empowerment across India, emphasizing inclusive growth and equal opportunities for all.
