Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday delivered a fierce rebuke to the opposition in Bihar, declaring that the state’s people will remember the ‘Jungle Raj’ years for the next hundred years.
He remarked that no matter how much the opposition tries to disguise its previous misdeeds, the electorate will not absolve them.
The comments came on the same day the Grand Alliance named Tejashwi Yadav as its Chief Ministerial candidate for the upcoming Bihar Assembly polls.
PM Modi took aim at the opposition bloc, describing it not as a ‘Mahagathbandhan’ but a ‘Lathbandhan’ (an alliance held together by sticks), and claimed that several of its leading figures, from Delhi to Bihar, are currently out on bail.
Speaking to BJP workers through an audio link during the ‘Mera Booth Sabse Mazboot Yuva Samvad’ event, the Prime Minister encouraged them to remind Bihar’s youth of the harsh realities of the ‘Jungle Raj’ period.
“Gather the youth at every booth and invite elders from the area to share stories of the atrocities committed during that era. The people of Bihar must never forget those days,” PM Modi urged.

Drawing a contrast, he said Bihar today is moving ahead rapidly because of consistent governance under the NDA, both at the Centre and in the state.
“Hospitals are being built, schools are being constructed, and new railway lines are being laid. This progress is a result of stability and good governance,” the Prime Minister noted.
PM Modi further said that Bihar’s younger generation is now full of confidence and hope, and that the state has found new momentum under the NDA’s leadership.
“This election will write a new chapter in Bihar’s history, with the youth playing a decisive role,” he asserted, appealing to them to reach out to every household and motivate people to vote.
Bringing his address to a close, Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed faith that a new era of women’s empowerment would begin in Bihar on 14 November, when the BJP-led NDA returns to power.
