PM Modi Reaches Out To Bengal Voters; Promises Rebuilding Of The State

The West Bengal unit of the Bharatiya Janata Party has commenced the mass distribution of an open letter written by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in both Bengali and Hindi, as part of its campaign for the forthcoming Assembly elections later this year.

In the letter, the Prime Minister criticises the government led by Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee and the ruling All India Trinamool Congress, alleging that it has attempted to prevent residents from receiving the full benefits of centrally sponsored welfare schemes.

He maintains, however, that many beneficiaries have managed to access these schemes despite administrative hurdles.

Opening the letter, PM Modi writes that the electoral decision of the people in the coming months will determine the future of the next generation in the state.

He voices concern over alleged deprivation and promises to rebuild a “developed and prosperous West Bengal”.

PM Modi lists welfare schemes launched since 2014, claiming they have benefited the state despite alleged non-cooperation.

He also recalls Bengal’s past economic prominence and laments its current decline, which he attributes to years of misgovernance.

PM Modi raises concerns regarding unemployment among educated youth, claiming that many have been compelled to seek opportunities outside the state.

He raises concerns over women’s safety and invokes icons such as Swami Vivekananda, Sri Aurobindo, Rabindranath Tagore and Subhas Chandra Bose, saying Bengal deserves renewed growth.

Citing issues like infiltration and economic stagnation, he calls for change and urges people to unite for development, claiming other states have progressed more rapidly.
