Prime Minister Narendra Modi telephoned French President Emmanuel Macron on Thursday. They discussed shared anxieties about the unfolding situation in West Asia.

Earlier, PM Modi joined a joint briefing with Finland’s leader, Alexander Stubb. He said the world now faces instability and uncertainty.
The Prime Minister cited conflicts from Ukraine to West Asia to show the wider challenge.
PM Modi and the Finnish President agreed that no issue yields to force alone. They endorsed the rule of law and negotiated solutions.
In recent days, New Delhi reached out to Gulf capitals and regional partners.
Officials spoke with Qatar, the United Arab Emirates, Israel, Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Bahrain, Oman and Kuwait.
The Government coordinated contacts to calm tensions and protect regional interests. PM Modi emphasised India’s commitment to measured diplomacy and collective de-escalation.
The Prime Minister and President Macron last met at the AI Impact Summit in New Delhi. They maintained steady communication to align efforts.
Prime Minister Modi also thanked the French President for his Holi greetings.
Macron had posted a Hindi message saying, “Happy Holi, my friend!”

Both leaders urged immediate diplomatic channels now to prevent further civilian harm and displacement. They pledged to continue close engagement.
In addition, they will coordinate with international and regional partners.
Their joint focus remains clear: restore peace through diplomacy, avert escalation, and uphold global stability.
