Prime Minister Narendra Modi paid tribute to Shaheed Bhagat Singh on his birth anniversary, recalling the revolutionary freedom fighter’s courage, sacrifice and contribution to India’s freedom struggle.
In a post on X, PM Modi offered his respects to Bhagat Singh and said his ‘indomitable courage and valour’ gave new strength to the freedom movement. He further described Bhagat Singh’s willingness to sacrifice everything for the honour of the nation as a symbol of courage and resolve for India’s youth.
The Prime Minister recalled Bhagat Singh’s fearlessness and determination in the face of British rule. His revolutionary activities and commitment to India’s independence made him a prominent figure in the anti-colonial struggle.

Bhagat Singh was born on September 28, 1907, and became involved in revolutionary activities at a young age. He, however, played a significant role in the freedom movement and became widely known for his opposition to British rule.
The British government executed Bhagat Singh on March 23, 1931, when he was 23. His sacrifice became an enduring part of India’s freedom struggle and has continued to inspire generations.
Bhagat Singh remains one of the most remembered revolutionaries of India’s independence movement, with his courage, sacrifice and dedication to the nation continuing to hold a prominent place in the country’s history.
