On the first day of Navratri, Prime Minister Narendra Modi took to social media to extend his best wishes to the nation on the occasion of Navratri and various regional New Year festivals.
PM Modi conveyed his greetings through his official social media account X, wishing happiness and good health for all.
“Many best wishes to all countrymen on the occasion of Nav Samvatsar. May this auspicious occasion bring new enthusiasm in your life, which will also fill new energy in the resolve of a developed India,” PM Modi posted.
PM Modi further wished the people on Navratri: “Best wishes to the countrymen on Navratri. May this holy festival of Shakti-sadhana fill everyone’s life with courage, restraint, and strength. Jai Mata Di!”
On the occasion of Ugadi, celebrated as the New Year in parts of South India, PM Modi wished prosperity and success to all.
“This is a special festival, associated with hope and vibrancy. I pray that this new year brings joy, prosperity, and success in everyone’s lives. May the spirit of happiness and harmony continue to grow and flourish,” he wrote.
Ugadi marks the start of the Chaitra month and is celebrated in Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, and Karnataka, signifying renewal, prosperity, and the onset of spring.
PM Modi also sent his warm wishes on the occasion of Sajibu Cheiraoba, the lunar New Year festival in Manipur.
The Prime Minister prayed for happiness, prosperity, and the fulfillment of all dreams. “May everyone be blessed with good health,” PM Modi said.
In a message for Kashmiri Pandits, PM Modi wished them a very happy new year, praying for success, prosperity, and new opportunities in their lives.
“Navreh Poshte! May the coming year bring success, prosperity, and endless blessings to everyone,” he posted.
In a similar vein, President Droupadi Murmu also extended her heartfelt greetings on these significant festivals.
She took to the social media platform X to share her wishes for Chaitra Shukladi, Ugadi, Gudi Padwa, Cheti Chand, Navreh, and Sajibu-Cheroba.
Her message celebrated India’s cultural diversity and the arrival of spring, wishing prosperity and happiness to the people of India.
“Heartiest greetings to all countrymen on Chaitra Shukladi, Ugadi, Gudi-Padwa, Cheti-Chand, Navreh, and Sajibu-Cheroba. These festivals, celebrated to welcome the spring season and the advent of the New Year, are a symbol of unity in the rich cultural diversity of India. These festivals infuse new energy and enthusiasm in the countrymen. On this occasion, I wish happiness and prosperity for all,” she wrote.
Union Home Minister Amit Shah also greeted the nation, praying that the spirit of Navratri brings peace, meditation, and spiritual progress.
“Heartiest greetings to all countrymen on ‘Hindu New Year – Vikram Samvat 2082’. May this year, full of new enthusiasm and new opportunities, infuse new energy in everyone’s life,” he posted.
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath also prayed for prosperity and the blessings of Maa Shailaputri, the deity worshiped on the first day of Navratri.
“May your blessings bring prosperity and happiness all around. Jai Maa Shailaputri!” he wrote in a Sanskrit shloka.
These festivals, celebrated at the start of the spring season, are a symbol of India’s rich cultural diversity and unity.
