A Symbol of Courage in India’s Freedom Struggle
Rani Lakshmibai remains one of the most iconic figures of the 1857 uprising, often regarded as the First War of Independence.
Born in 1828, she became the queen consort of the princely state of Jhansi in 1843.
Following the outbreak of the rebellion, she assumed leadership and fiercely resisted British rule, leading her troops into several key battles.
Her determination, leadership, and martial skill transformed her into a national symbol of resistance and empowerment.
