Prime Minister Narendra Modi attended Christmas celebrations on Thursday at Union Minister George Kurian’s residence. The event featured interactions with prominent Christian community members, showcasing cultural inclusivity.
In a post on platform X, PM Modi shared, “Attended the Christmas celebrations at the residence of Union Minister George Kurian Ji. Also interacted with eminent members of the Christian community @GeorgekurianBjp.”
George Kurian, hailing from Kottayam, Kerala, joined the BJP in 1980. Known for his soft-spoken demeanor, Kurian has been a prominent voice for the party. He served as Vice-Chairman of the National Minorities Commission in 2017. Earlier, he was an officer on special duty to Minister O. Rajagopal during the Vajpayee government.
Kurian’s ministerial role strengthens BJP’s outreach to the Christian community. Appointed in June, his leadership represents a bridge between the government and minority communities.
Christmas commemorates the birth of Jesus Christ, celebrated for his teachings of love, sacrifice, and hope. Christians believe his arrival transformed the world, promoting compassion over greed and evil.
The festival holds deep religious and cultural importance. It includes prayers, carol singing, and services. These rituals honor Christ’s sacrifices, including his crucifixion and resurrection, fostering a spirit of unity and joy
