PM Modi Inaugurates UER-II & Dwarka Expressway; Boosts Connectivity In Delhi-NCR

Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated two key infrastructure projects, the Urban Extension Road-II (UER-II) and the Dwarka Expressway, highlighting the drive to transform Delhi into a ‘Vikas Model’ city on Sunday.

Addressing a large public gathering, PM Modi said the newly constructed highways would significantly ease travel for commuters, farmers, and labourers. He added that the routes would also benefit businessmen, saving both time and effort.

“Delhi got the connectivity of UER-II and Dwarka Expressway, which will ease the lives of the people of the NCR. Travelling to offices will become easier, and it will save a lot of time,” he said.

The Prime Minister highlighted that Delhi’s development reflects India’s broader economic aspirations.

“The entire world recognises the momentum of the new India. When they see India, the first thing they associate with is our capital, Delhi. We must make Delhi a ‘Vikas Model’ showing the aspirations of a developed nation,” he stated.

He also noted that over the past 11 years, the government has consistently invested in infrastructure, citing modern expressways, the metro network, and Namo Bharat as examples of improved connectivity in Delhi-NCR.

Engaging with Public & Construction Workers

Earlier, PM Modi conducted a roadshow at Mundka-Bakkarwala Village Toll Plaza, where hundreds of residents gathered to greet him. He also interacted with workers involved in constructing the highway, appreciating their contributions in shaping these world-class projects.

The inauguration saw PM Modi reviewing project progress alongside Union Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari, Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, and Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini.

The projects, forming part of a broader plan to decongest Delhi, will significantly improve traffic flow and enhance connectivity across the NCR region.

Highlighting the timing and location of the event, PM Modi drew a cultural connection: “The highway is named Dwarka Expressway, the place is Rohini, the occasion is Janmashtami, and I am also from the land of Dwarkadeesh. The entire atmosphere is filled with devotion towards Lord Krishna.”

The UER-II and Dwarka Expressway aim to reduce congestion, enhance industrial connectivity, and improve travel times between key areas such as Indira Gandhi International Airport, Dwarka, Noida, Faridabad, and Gurugram. These upgraded routes will benefit farmers, traders, and daily commuters the most.
