
On Tuesday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi welcomed Chilean President Gabriel Boric Font at Hyderabad House, marking a key moment in strengthening India-Chile relations.
The official spokesperson for the Ministry of External Affairs, Randhir Jaiswal, confirmed the meeting. He stated that both leaders would engage in detailed discussions to further expand their bilateral ties.
Taking to X, Jaiswal posted, “PM @narendramodi warmly receives President @GabrielBoric of Chile at Hyderabad House. Both leaders will have extensive discussions on expanding the strong India-Chile bilateral ties.”

Earlier in the day, President Boric paid his respects to Mahatma Gandhi at Raj Ghat. This gesture reflected the shared values between the two countries.
He was accompanied by his delegation, including ministers and parliamentarians.
“Together with our delegation of ministers and parliamentarians, we paid tribute to Mahatma Gandhi at Raj Ghat, the memorial erected in his honor in New Delhi. His legacy reminds us that with India, we not only share common interests and a future of great opportunities for our people, but also shared fundamental values,” President Boric posted on X.

Earlier, President Boric described his state visit as a ‘momentous occasion’ to strengthen Chile’s ties with India.
He further expressed his excitement about the busy schedule ahead. It includes participation from various sectors such as government, business, innovation, culture, academia, and more.
In a tweet, President Boric shared, “We’re here to strengthen and strengthen our ties, and that’s why I’m joined by government officials, the National Congress, business leaders, leaders in the fields of innovation and culture, distinguished professors, and students. A busy schedule, I’ll keep you posted!”

As part of his state visit, which runs from 1-5 April, President Boric met with External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar.
The two reaffirmed their commitment to enhancing bilateral cooperation.

At the invitation of PM Modi, this visit however focuses on fostering stronger economic, political, and cultural ties between the nations.
Chilean President Gabriel Boric Font is accompanied by a high-level delegation, which includes:

- Business leaders,
- Senior officials, &
- Representatives from various sectors
Together, they aim to explore opportunities for collaboration between India and Chile in diverse areas of mutual interest.
