Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday underlined the significance of homoeopathy within India’s healthcare framework. He shared an article by Ayush Minister Prataprao Jadhav on the occasion of World Homoeopathy Day, drawing attention to the system’s expanding relevance.
In a post on X, the Prime Minister noted that homoeopathy has matured into an essential pillar of India’s pluralistic health ecosystem. He described it as a holistic and patient-focused discipline that aligns with sustainable healthcare practices.

Jadhav emphasised that homoeopathy continues to earn public trust. He stated that thousands of patients seek relief through this system daily, reflecting strong confidence among citizens in its therapeutic value.
Government sources indicated that homoeopathy has gained wider international acceptance, particularly in community health services and public health interventions.
Authorities have strengthened their reach through evidence-based approaches, improved accessibility, and integration into national programmes.
Rajesh Kotecha, Secretary, Ministry of AYUSH, highlighted the synergy among traditional systems such as Ayurveda, Siddha, Unani, and homoeopathy. He stressed their shared emphasis on natural healing and patient-centric care.
Kotecha further noted that homoeopathy has shown efficacy in managing chronic and infectious diseases, including during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Technological initiatives like AYUSH ID and Aura have enhanced transparency and service delivery.
Introduced in India in the early nineteenth century, homoeopathy has evolved into a key component of alternative medicine.
India currently hosts approximately 3.45 lakh registered practitioners, over 8,500 dispensaries, 277 institutions, and 34 research centres. These figures underscore its institutional strength and growing contribution to the vision of a developed nation.
