Prime Minister Narendra Modi underscored the government’s swift progress in its first 100 days, emphasizing its scale and priorities. Speaking at the fourth Global Renewable Energy Investors’ Meet and Expo (RE-INVEST), PM Modi noted that 140 crore Indians are determined to make India the world’s third-largest economy.

During his address, PM Modi highlighted major initiatives, including plans to build seven crore new houses, surpassing the population of many countries. He also reviewed achievements from previous terms, where four crore homes were already delivered.

The government has launched 12 new industrial cities, approved eight high-speed road projects, and introduced over 15 semi-high-speed Vande Bharat trains. Additionally, a Rs 1 trillion research fund has been set up, alongside new e-mobility initiatives and biomanufacturing policies.

In the green energy sector, PM Modi announced a Rs 7,000 crore viability gap funding scheme for offshore wind projects and a Rs 12,000 crore investment to produce 31,000 megawatts of hydropower. India aims to achieve 500 GW of renewable energy by 2030 and has already met its Paris climate commitments nine years ahead of schedule.

PM Modi emphasized India’s commitment to building a sustainable future with solar, wind, nuclear, and hydropower due to limited oil and gas reserves. The ‘PM Surya Ghar Free Electricity Scheme’ aims to make every household a power producer. So far, over 1.30 crore families have registered, with installations completed in 3.25 lakh homes.

The Prime Minister concluded by reaffirming India’s readiness for long-term development and global leadership.
