Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Gujarat and Maharashtra on Tuesday to inaugurate, dedicate and lay the foundation stones for a series of development projects aimed at strengthening infrastructure, logistics and economic growth.

In Vadodara, PM Modi will launch projects worth more than ₹35,000 crore and later inaugurate the Global Fintech Fest (GFF) 2026 in Mumbai.

A major highlight of the visit will be the dedication of three sections of the Western Dedicated Freight Corridor (WDFC), covering 326 route kilometres and developed at a cost of over ₹20,700 crore.

The sections, however, include New Sanand–New Makarpura, New Umbergaon–New Saphale and New Saphale–New Jawaharlal Nehru Port Authority (JNPA).

Officials said direct rail connectivity to JNPA would improve cargo movement, reduce logistics costs and ease congestion on Mumbai’s railway network.

With the commissioning of these sections, the Dedicated Freight Corridor network will become fully operational across its entire length, strengthening multimodal connectivity and improving the movement of goods across the country.

PM Modi will flag off freight trains from several locations and inaugurate a new passenger train service between Tanda Road and Vadodara (Pratapnagar).

The Prime Minister will dedicate the Jobat–Tanda rail line, connecting Alirajpur’s tribal areas to the national rail network. He will further launch railway and highway projects worth over ₹11,480 crore and Gujarat government projects worth ₹2,600 crore.

In Mumbai, PM Modi will inaugurate Global Fintech Fest 2026, bringing together global leaders to discuss digital finance and emerging technologies.

This year’s theme is ‘Potential to Impact: Agentic AI, Tokenisation, Quantum – Trusted, Connected, Global Systems for Inclusive Finance’, highlighting India’s growing leadership in financial technology and digital inclusion.
