Meetings with Singaporean Leadership
This trip is PM Modi’s fifth official visit to Singapore. He is accompanied by External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar, National Security Advisor Ajit Doval, and other officials. During the visit, he will meet with Singapore’s top leaders, including President Tharman Shanmugaratnam, Senior Minister Lee Hsien Loong, and Emeritus Senior Minister Goh Chok Tong. PM Modi has expressed eagerness for these discussions, emphasizing the importance of strengthening India-Singapore relations.
Business and Cultural Engagements
On September 5, PM Modi will receive an official welcome at the Parliament House. He will also hold separate meetings with Singapore PM Lawrence Wong and Senior Minister Lee Hsien Loong. Additionally, PM Modi will join a business roundtable organized by the Singapore Business Federation. This event will feature interactions with leaders from Singapore’s semiconductor sector and students from the India Ready Talent Programme. The aim is to enhance both economic and cultural ties between India and Singapore.
