Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the redeveloped Amrit Bharat Railway Station in Deshnoke and flagged off the new Bikaner-Mumbai train service during his visit to Rajasthan’s Bikaner district on Thursday.
The visit marked a key step in advancing the central government’s infrastructure agenda across the country.
PM Modi’s day began with a visit to the famous Karni Mata Temple in Deshnok, known for its unique population of sacred rats and deep cultural significance.
On arrival, he was warmly welcomed by Rajasthan Governor Haribhau Bagde, Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma, and Union Minister Arjun Ram Meghwal.
Temple authorities presented him with a replica of the shrine, and he offered prayers, prasad, and a donation at the sanctum.
At the Deshnoke Railway Station, redeveloped under the Amrit Bharat scheme, the Prime Minister inaugurated the new facilities and inspected an exhibition set up at the site.

He also interacted with schoolchildren present at the event, who gifted him handmade paintings.
Public Rally & Development Announcements
Following the inauguration, PM Modi proceeded to Palana village, about 8 km from Deshnok, where he addressed a massive public rally.
Over one lakh people gathered to hear him speak, with extensive arrangements made for their participation.
During the rally, the Prime Minister announced the nationwide launch of 103 Amrit Stations and laid the foundation stone for multiple development projects totalling ₹26,000 crore.
These include 1,000 km of electrified railway lines, seven key road development projects, three vehicle underpasses, a PowerGrid transmission initiative, and 900 km of national highways to strengthen connectivity within Rajasthan.
This visit to Rajasthan is PM Modi’s first since India’s cross-border strikes on terror launch pads in Pakistan and PoK on May 7.
The occasion also recalled his earlier speech in Churu in the aftermath of the 2019 Pulwama attack, reinforcing the symbolic and strategic importance of the visit.
After the public meeting, PM Modi will return to Nal Airport by helicopter at around 12:30 PM and depart for Delhi by 1:15 PM, concluding a tightly scheduled visit lasting just over three hours.
This visit reinforces the government’s commitment to infrastructure-led growth, regional connectivity, and the promotion of religious and cultural tourism in Rajasthan.
