PM Modi Extends Teachers’ Day Greetings; Pays Tribute To Dr Radhakrishnan

PM Modi and Indian leaders celebrate Teachers’ Day, honouring educators’ dedication and paying tribute to Dr Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi extended warm Teachers’ Day greetings on Friday, lauding the commitment and compassion of educators who nurture young minds, forming the foundation for a brighter and stronger future.

He also paid tribute to former President Dr Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan on his birth anniversary, a day traditionally celebrated to honour the country’s teachers.

In a post on X, PM Modi wrote, “Wishing everyone, particularly all hardworking teachers, a very happy #TeachersDay! The dedication of teachers to nurturing minds is the foundation of a stronger and brighter future. Their commitment and compassion are noteworthy. We also remember the life and thoughts of Dr. S. Radhakrishnan, a distinguished scholar and teacher, on his birth anniversary.”

Union Education Minister Salutes Educators

Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan joined the celebrations, sharing a photograph of sand art by renowned artist Sudarshan, paying homage to the former President.

In his X post, Pradhan wrote, “A wonderful tribute to teachers by Shri @sudarsansand. On Teachers’ Day, I salute all the gurus who are helping students realise their full potential. Their hard work and dedication is fostering excellence, illuminating lives and contributing to national development.”

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh also extended his greetings, describing teachers as the guiding light who shape young minds, instil values, and nurture future leaders.

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath paid heartfelt tributes to Dr Radhakrishnan, noting his pivotal role in promoting Indian culture and Vedanta philosophy globally, while helping build a ‘Modern India-Educated India’.

The day is also marked by the presentation of National Awards to Teachers at Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi, recognising educators whose dedication has profoundly impacted students’ lives.

On Thursday, PM Modi interacted with the award-winning teachers, emphasising that honouring educators goes beyond ritual, it acknowledges their lifelong contribution to nation-building and society.
