As India celebrated its 77th Republic Day on January 26, Prime Minister Narendra Modi extended heartfelt greetings to citizens, expressing hope that the national festival would infuse new energy and enthusiasm across the country and strengthen the collective resolve to build a developed India.
In a message shared on the social media platform X, the Prime Minister described Republic Day as a symbol of India’s pride and glory.
“Heartiest congratulations to all countrymen on Republic Day. May this national festival infuse new energy and enthusiasm into all of you. May the resolve for a developed India become even stronger,” he said.

In another post, PM Modi reiterated his vision of Viksit Bharat, stating that the occasion should add renewed momentum to the collective determination of nation-building.

Emphasising the deeper significance of the day, he noted that Republic Day stands as a powerful symbol of India’s independence, Constitution, and democratic values, inspiring citizens to move forward unitedly.
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath also extended his greetings, highlighting the Constitution as the foundation of Indian democracy.
He underlined that the values of liberty, equality, justice, and fraternity form the soul of the nation. Calling upon the youth, CM Yogi urged them to actively participate in building a new Uttar Pradesh by embracing constitutional ideals and social responsibility.

Republic Day is observed annually on January 26 to mark the adoption and enforcement of the Constitution of India in 1950, signifying the country’s transition into a sovereign democratic republic.
Moreover, the celebrations include the grand Republic Day parade in New Delhi, featuring 30 tableaux from states, Union Territories, and Central ministries, along with cultural performances and a special ‘Battle Array’ presentation by the Indian Army.
