PM Modi Extends Greetings On Chitra Navratri; Emphasizes Peace From Goddess Durga’s Worship

On Tuesday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi extended his greetings to the nation on the third day of Chitra Navratri, emphasizing the peace that comes from worshiping Goddess Durga.

Taking to X, PM Modi posted, “On Navratri, worshiping Goddess Maa fills the heart with immense peace.”

PM Modi also shared a devotional bhajan sung by the legendary classical singer Pandit Bhimsen Joshi, calling it ‘a mesmerizing soulful bhajan dedicated to the Goddess’.

The song is a heartfelt prayer invoking the blessings of Goddess.

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath also took to social media to convey his wishes.

Sharing a Sanskrit shloka, he wrote in Hindi, “It is a prayer. On the holy third day of Chaitra Navratri, the great festival of worship of Jagajjanani Maa Jagdamba, may Maa Chandraghanta bless the people and devotees of the state.”

Across India, a large number of devotees filled temples. People began lining up early in the morning to offer prayers.

On the third day of the festival, Goddess Durga is worshipped in the form of Mata Chandraghanta, depicted with ten arms holding various weapons, a lotus flower, or blessing gestures.

Known for her calm yet powerful demeanor, Mata Chandraghanta brings peace, bravery, and success to her followers.

Her half-moon forehead symbolizes her name, ‘Chandraghanta’, and she provides strength while removing obstacles.

Navratri, a festival dedicated to Goddess Durga and her nine forms, is celebrated with great reverence throughout India.

The festival’s rituals honor the goddess in various avatars, collectively known as Navdurga.

In Delhi, the third day saw a vibrant morning aarti at Jhandewalan Temple, with a large crowd of devotees gathering for darshan. Devotees also flocked to Kalkaji Temple for the darshan of Mata Kalka.

One devotee expressed, “The darshan were very good, and there is definitely strong faith in Mata Rani.”

In Ayodhya, crowds filled the Ram temple and Hanuman Garhi as devotees gathered in large numbers.

Meanwhile, at the Mata Vaishno Devi shrine in Katra, Jammu and Kashmir, thousands of pilgrims visited the temple. Authorities ensured safety measures during the ongoing Navratri festivities.

The shrine atop Trikuta Hills has seen a steady influx of devotees since the start of the nine-day festival.
