Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday extended his heartfelt greetings to devotees embarking on the annual Amarnath Yatra, praying for a safe, peaceful and spiritually fulfilling pilgrimage.
As the sacred Amarnath Yatra to the holy cave shrine in Jammu and Kashmir commenced, the Prime Minister released an open letter urging pilgrims to adopt five resolutions promoting cleanliness, safety, environmental conservation, local livelihoods and nation-building.
In a post on X, PM Modi described the Amarnath Yatra as an enduring symbol of India’s spiritual heritage and cultural unity.

He said the pilgrimage represents an eternal chapter in the nation’s cultural traditions and expressed hope that every devotee of Lord Shiva would complete the journey safely and successfully.
Addressing pilgrims with ‘Har Har Mahadev’ and ‘Jai Baba Barfani’, the Prime Minister said participating in the Yatra is a profound privilege.
He further noted that the annual pilgrimage begins with the Pratham Puja on Jyeshtha Purnima and attracts lakhs of devotees from across India and abroad, reflecting the country’s unity in diversity.
Marking the Amarnath Yatra, the Prime Minister moreover urged pilgrims to adopt five resolutions on cleanliness, safety, environmental conservation, local livelihoods and nation-building.
Expressing confidence in the success of this year’s pilgrimage, PM Modi said the Amarnath Yatra would continue to symbolise Sanatan faith, cultural unity and the enduring spirit of selfless service.
